Pulling off a tense victory, India have secured a place in the final of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup after defeating England by 7 runs in a high-scoring semi-final clash in Mumbai on Thursday. Undoubtedly, the victory has capped off an exciting showdown that witnessed explosive batting and determined bowling from India, allowing them to book their spot in Sunday’s final.

After being asked to bat, India made the most of the opportunity with a dominant batting display, with in-form wicketkeeper-batter Sanju Samson leading the charge with a brilliant 89 off 42 balls. India’s batting lineup maintained the momentum throughout the innings, with other players contributing quick cameos to keep the scoreboard ticking at a rapid pace. Ishan Kishan and Shivam Dube contributed 39 and 43 respectively to take India to 253/7 in 20 overs.

Chasing 254 for victory, England began aggressively but soon found themselves under pressure. However, young batter Jacob Bethell produced a remarkable counterattack to keep England’s hopes alive. Bethel delivered a stunning innings, smashing 105 runs from 48 balls in a fearless display of power hitting. Indian bowlers remained composed to limit England to 246/7 in 20 overs. Notably, fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah played a key role with a disciplined spell, conceding 33 runs in his four overs while picking up a wicket.
