KKR sign Blessing Muzarabani for IPL 2026

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have strengthened their pace attack ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 season by signing Zimbabwe fast bowler Blessing Muzarabani. The pacer has reportedly decided to give up his contract in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) in order to take advantage of the opportunity to play in the Indian Premier League. Earlier, Muzarabani had gone unsold at the PSL auction.
However, he was later signed by Islamabad United as a direct replacement for injured West Indies fast bowler Shamar Joseph. Despite securing that opportunity, he has opted to play in the IPL. Meanwhile, his signing comes on the back of a strong performance in the recent Men's T20 World Cup held across India and Sri Lanka. He played a crucial role in helping his team reach the Super Eights stage of the tournament.
Muzarabani claimed 13 wickets, making him one of the standout bowlers of the tournament. The upcoming season will mark Muzarabani’s second stint in the IPL. He previously had a brief association with Royal Challengers Bengaluru during the closing stages of IPL 2025. At that time, he joined the franchise as a temporary replacement player. KKR will kick off their IPL 2026 campaign on March 29 against Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium.
