"This is just the start": Rohit Sharma on India’s recent title wins

Indian legend Rohit Sharma has expressed optimism about the future of Indian cricket, saying that the recent wave of ICC trophy victories by both the men’s and women’s teams is just the beginning of a new era of dominance. Rohit's remarks come after India’s men’s team secured their third title at the Men's T20 World Cup on March 8 in Ahmedabad, marking their second consecutive win in the tournament.
Moreover, just four months ago, the women’s team achieved a historic milestone by winning their first-ever Women's Cricket World Cup in Navi Mumbai. Rohit praised the dedication and hard work that players have put into building a culture of consistency. According to him, the recent title victories are the result of sustained effort and hard work.
"There's no secret to success; it's all about hard work. International cricketers from men and women's teams, they have worked really, really hard to achieve what they have achieved. Of course, it's not just the players who perform on the field, but there's so many people behind the scenes as well who have put in so much hard work into that success. So a lot of people and personnel to give credit to," Rohit said in Mumbai on Saturday.
Rohit also applauded the women’s team for their breakthrough World Cup win and hoped that this is just the start.
"I feel very, very happy and proud to see what we've been seeing for the last couple of years now to come out with flying colours and achieve what we have achieved. Not just men's team but also women's team winning that World Cup in Mumbai was fantastic to watch. And recently now, what the men's team did to win the T20 World Cup, what they did was phenomenal. And I hope this is just the start; there's no looking back from here because once you get the momentum – and we often talk about momentum in cricket – both men's and women's teams have, all I hope is that we carry this momentum forward."
