Samson's blazing ton powers CSK to crushing win over DC

Chennai Super Kings finally opened their victory account in emphatic fashion in the ongoing Indian Premier League 2026 as a breathtaking innings from Sanju Samson powered them to a 23-run victory over Delhi Capitals on Saturday in Chennai. Asked to bat first, CSK's innings was anchored by Samson, who remained unbeaten on 115 off 56 balls, an innings that demonstrated searing elegance and relentless aggression. His knock completely lit up the evening, featuring 15 boundaries and four sixes, as he dominated the Delhi bowling attack from start to finish.
He formed a series of crucial partnerships. He first added 62 runs with Ruturaj Gaikwad, who scored 15 runs. The momentum surged during a commanding 113-run stand with Ayush Mhatre, who contributed 59. In the end, Samson capped things off with an unbeaten 37-run partnership alongside Shivam Dube, pushing CSK to 212/2 in 20 overs. Shivam Dube scored 20 off 10.
Chasing a big target, Delhi Capitals enjoyed a brilliant start following an aggressive performance from Pathum Nissanka. His 41 off 24 balls served as a solid platform for DC. However, once he departed, the innings began to lose direction. The middle order struggled to deal with the challenge, with wickets falling at regular intervals. Amid the faltering chase, Tristan Stubbs stood tall with a fighting 60. However, he could not guide the side home, as DC were folded for 189 in 20 overs.
