Injury setbacks for stars Rohit and Kohli

After copping an 18-run defeat against Royal Challengers Bengaluru at Wankhede Stadium on Sunday, Mumbai Indians have been dealt a major blow, with Rohit Sharma picking up a hamstring injury. Chasing a gigantic target of 241, Mumbai Indians were off to a flying start, with Rohit Sharma leading the charge. However, trouble struck early. With only four balls into the fifth over, Rohit appeared uncomfortable and was seen limping between the wickets.
The discomfort forced the physio to step in for on-field treatment. However, Rohit attempted to continue, but he was unable to deal with the pain. After scoring a brilliant 19 runs off 13 deliveries, Rohit decided to retire hurt. He did not return for the remainder of the innings, handing a crushing setback to MI.
“I am not sure about it. Probably, (it’s) a bit of a hamstring. I am not sure; I was in the dugout, so I can’t really give much information on that," Rutherford said at the press conference.
Earlier in the match, RCB also faced major concern involving Virat Kohli. During RCB’s innings, Kohli needed medical attention with five balls into the tenth over. He was seen receiving treatment on his left leg. Kohli did not continue on the field; however, he was later seen in the dugout as RCB claimed a massive win.
