"There is nothing bigger than playing for the country": Krunal Pandya eyes India comeback

Royal Challengers Bengaluru all-rounder Krunal Pandya has expressed that his ultimate goal remains to reclaim his place in the Indian national setup. Currently, representing Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the ongoing IPL, Pandya has categorically stated that there is nothing bigger than playing for India. Pandya, meanwhile, rather than dwelling on his absence from the Indian side, has chosen to focus consistent performances on the field, and he has been impressive for RCB in the ongoing season of the IPL.
"There is nothing bigger than playing for the country. I have not spoken much about it. But the ultimate goal is to represent the country, and I don't dwell too much on it. I want to keep doing what I have in my hand, which is to go out there and perform and win games. And in that process, if I get that opportunity, I'll be really glad because that's the ultimate goal, playing for the country," Pandya said at the press conference after RCB's victory over MI.
He last played for India during the tour of Sri Lanka in July 2021. His most recent appearances came in the third ODI on July 20 and the second T20 International on July 25, 2021, at Colombo’s R. Premadasa Stadium. Since then, he has remained on the sidelines, despite being active in domestic and franchise competitions. So far, he has featured in 5 ODIs and 19 T20Is for India. For RCB this season, Krunal Pandya has taken 5 wickets in 4 matches, making key contributions in every match.
"And yeah, whatever opportunity I got playing for the country in white ball, I did a pretty decent job at that time. It's just I want to do my thing, and the rest of the things I leave to God," he added.
