ACA announces cash reward of Rs 25 lakh for curators and groundsmen

In a big decision, the Assam Cricket Association has announced a financial reward of INR 25 lakh for the curators and groundsmen of the ACA Stadium in Guwahati. This gesture comes in the wake of their exceptional efforts to ensure that all three Indian Premier League (IPL) matches at the venue were successfully conducted, amid persistent rainfall disruptions.
Guwahati, which is a secondary home ground for Rajasthan Royals this season, hosted matches against Chennai Super Kings, Mumbai Indians, and Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Each of these fixtures faced rain threat; however, the curators and groundsmen remained up to the task.
"Working under challenging weather conditions, the curator and groundsmen ensured that the pitches were prepared and maintained to the highest standards. Their efforts were central to the smooth conduct of the matches and helped uphold the venue's growing reputation on the national stage,” the ACA said in a statement.
Meanwhile, Rajasthan Royals are riding high on success with four victories on the trot. Their upcoming match is against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Monday at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.
