Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) have brought in Sri Lankan fast bowler Dilshan Madushanka as a replacement for England pacer Brydon Carse for the remainder of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 season. The left-arm seamer has been signed for a fee of INR 75 lakh.

Carse, who had been retained by SRH ahead of the 2026 auction, was ruled out before the campaign even began. The injury occurred during a practice session, where he sustained damage to his right hand while batting in the nets. This unfortunate incident happened just before SRH’s opening clash against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). Madushanka steps into the squad with solid international experience despite not yet making his IPL debut.

He has represented Sri Lanka across all formats, featuring in one Test, 28 ODIs, and 19 T20Is. Across these appearances, he has claimed 70 wickets. Notably, SRH are currently without their regular skipper Pat Cummins, who is recovering from an injury.
