IPL 2026: KKR look to tackle fired-up GT

In a high-voltage clash, Gujarat Titans and Kolkata Knight Riders are set to collide with each other in Ahmedabad on Friday, with both teams coming off contrasting narratives. Gujarat Titans appear to be hitting their stride at the right time following a shaky start. They have registered two back-to-back victories, climbing into mid-table contention. Their batting unit has been anchored by Jos Buttler, Shubman Gill, and Sai Sudharsan.
Buttler has looked in great touch, consistently providing aggressive starts, while Gill has handled the pressure situations smartly. Sai Sudharsan has provided brilliant batting depth.
Their recent outing against Lucknow Super Giants showed their growing confidence as they were incredibly disciplined both in their batting and bowling. Now, with back-to-back wins, GT will look to carry on with momentum and claim their third victory on the trot.
On the other hand, Kolkata Knight Riders find themselves in a difficult position, having endured a disappointing start to the season. They are yet to register a win, and they sit at the bottom of the standings. So far, they have been marred by a string of losses and an abandoned match. They have vastly talented players in their squad, such as Sunil Narine, Cameron Green, and Rinku Singh, but they have lacked the firepower, making things complicated for the side.
Their bowling attack, particularly in the pace department, has been a concern. Without a settled combination, they have struggled to contain the opposition. As things stand, KKR need a swift change to turn things around for themselves.
