England’s young legspin-bowling allrounder Rehan Ahmed is set to make his Indian Premier League debut after being signed by Delhi Capitals for the IPL 2026. Rehan will replace his fellow England cricketer Ben Duckett, who opted out of the tournament in a bid to focus on his red-ball career.

Rehan has been signed at a price of INR 75 lakh. He will undoubtedly boost DC's squad, possessing the capability to make contributions with both bat and ball. The Capitals’ spin unit features captain Axar Patel and wrist-spinner Kuldeep Yadav, along with promising names like Vipraj Nigam and uncapped offspinner Tripurana Vijay. With Rehan in the side, Delhi now has a strong variety of spin options. Rehan also has huge experience across global leagues, including England’s T20 Blast, Australia’s Big Bash League, and the UAE’s ILT20.

Across 97 T20 matches, he has taken 85 wickets at an economy rate of 8.13. He has also contributed 1,071 runs with a strike rate close to 126. Talking about DC, they will face Punjab Kings in their next game on Saturday in Delhi.
