TNPL 2026: Trichy Grand Cholas take on Lyca Kovai Kings in Qualifier 2
Trichy Grand Cholas and Lyca Kovai Kings are gearing up to face off in Qualifier 2 of the ongoing TNPL 2026 on Wednesday at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai. Surprisingly, neither side has a victory in the knockout phase yet after their respective matches were abandoned due to rain.
Trichy Grand Cholas have had an uncommon path through the playoffs. Their Qualifier 1 match against Madurai Panthers was wiped out due to a persistent rainfall. Because Madurai Panthers had the higher position in the points table, they secured a direct qualification into the final. During the group stage, Trichy had a great campaign, winning four of their final five matches. Lyca Kovai Kings, meanwhile, have experienced a mixed season.
A three-match losing streak put their campaign in danger, but they responded with three emphatic victories that completely changed the fate of their season. Their last encounter against IDream Tiruppur Tamizhans in the Eliminator was abandoned due to rain, making this a crucial showdown.
