Gujarat Titans came out all guns blazing with a commanding performance to outclass Chennai Super Kings by eight wickets on Sunday at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, completing a massive chase to seal an emphatic victory. Chasing a modest target of 159, Gujarat Titans made light work of the total, reaching it in 16.4 overs. The foundation of the chase was laid by Sai Sudharsan, who produced a beautiful knock of 87. He was helped by Jos Buttler, whose massive 39* helped the side.

Earlier, Chennai Super Kings had a shaky start after being put in to bat. They were in deep trouble at 43/4 after 10 overs, struggling against a fiery spell from Gujarat’s pace attack. Kagiso Rabada and Mohammed Siraj were relentless with the new ball.

Amid the turmoil, skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad stood tall to rescue his side. After a cautious start, Gaikwad displayed excellent control and timing to bring up his first half-century of the season. He remained unbeaten on 74, guiding CSK to a respectable total of 158/7 in 20 overs.
