IPL 2026: MI, LSG eye turnaround in do-or-die clash

The stakes are all-time high as Mumbai Indians prepare to host Lucknow Super Giants at the Wankhede Stadium on Monday in a do-or-die showdown. Both sides are struggling near the bottom of the standings, making this a season-defining clash for both teams. Notably, a defeat here could all but put an end to their playoff aspirations. For Mumbai, the road ahead leaves no room for error.

So far, they have had a couple of victories from nine games, with inconsistency following them in every game. Now, every remaining match carries knockout-like pressure, because a defeat could shut the door on their chances of progressing further. LSG, on the other hand, are also in a fragile position.

They are struggling at the bottom of the points table, with a series of five consecutive defeats that have made things incredibly complicated for them. Their net run rate only adds to their concerns. For LSG too, the margin for recovery is slim, and they would hope for a turnaround to stay in contention.
