IPL 2026: Upbeat DC target revenge win over CSK

Delhi Capitals are gearing up to take on Chennai Super Kings at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Tuesday, with both sides carrying identical records, having four wins and five losses from nine matches. The memory of their previous encounter this season is still fresh, especially for Delhi. On that occasion, CSK came out victorious riding on a sensational century from Sanju Samson, who dismantled the Capitals’ bowling attack. He will be a major threat for DC heading into this rematch.
Delhi Capitals, however, come into this match with renewed confidence. After enduring a frustrating three-match losing streak, they bounced back brilliantly with a record-breaking chase against Rajasthan Royals. A key pillar of their campaign has been KL Rahul, whose consistency at the top has produced 433 runs in nine matches. A bold call from DC also paid dividends in their last match. The decision to leave out David Miller and promote Pathum Nissanka proved to be fruitful, as the Sri Lankan opener scored a maiden half-century.
In their bowling, the return of Mitchell Starc has been a game-changer. Additionally, Lungi Ngidi is nearing full fitness, which could further strengthen Delhi’s pace attack. If Ngidi is not fully ready, Kyle Jamieson remains a dependable backup option.
Chennai Super Kings also head into this match with momentum. They have secured three wins in their last five matches. Despite the absence of MS Dhoni, who is still recovering from injury, CSK have remained competitive under the leadership of Ruturaj Gaikwad.
Gaikwad, after enduring a quiet start to the season, has found his mojo at the right time. Back-to-back unbeaten fifties have been crucial for CSK. Meanwhile, Samson continues to shine as the standout performer, amassing 315 runs in nine matches, including two centuries. His earlier heroics against Delhi make him a central figure to watch once again. Delhi, on the other hand, will aim to avenge their earlier defeat.
