Krunal Pandya's gutsy knock fires RCB to stunning win over MI

Royal Challengers Bengaluru pulled off a nervy run chase to register a two-wicket victory over Mumbai Indians on Sunday at Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Cricket Stadium. RCB displayed great intensity under pressure to successfully chase down a target of 167. For RCB, the chase did not begin on a positive note as star batter Virat Kohli departed without opening his account for the second consecutive match.
However, young batter Jacob Bethell counterattacked with a nice 27. Meanwhile, despite regular wickets falling at the other end, experienced all-rounder Krunal Pandya stood tall under pressure and delivered a nervy performance. His fighting knock of 73 runs kept RCB alive in the match, and down the order, Bhuvneshwar Kumar's magic six in the 20th over sealed the victory for RCB as they scored 167/8 in 20 overs.
Earlier, Mumbai Indians struggled to recover after a shaky start. Asked to bat, they were reduced to 28/3 inside the opening three overs as RCB’s pace attack struck early blows. Veteran seamer Bhuvneshwar Kumar led the charge brilliantly. After the early collapse, Tilak Varma and Naman Dhir attempted to rebuild the innings with a valuable partnership.
Tilak played a knock of 57 from 42 deliveries, while Naman contributed an important 47. Together, the duo added 82 runs for the middle wickets and brought Mumbai back into contention.
However, once the partnership was broken, Mumbai found it difficult to accelerate in the death overs. RCB’s bowlers maintained discipline, with Bhuvneshwar finishing with an impressive four-wicket haul, playing a key role in restricting Mumbai Indians to 166/7 in 20 overs.
