Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) have announced England fast bowler Richard Gleeson as the replacement for Sri Lankan pacer Nuwan Thushara. The development comes after Thushara was unable to join the squad due to the refusal of a No-Objection Certificate (NOC) by Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC). RCB secured Gleeson’s services for INR 1.6 crore, the same amount for which Thushara had originally been retained ahead of the new season.

Gleeson brings valuable T20 experience, having previously represented Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Mumbai Indians (MI) in the IPL. Meanwhile, Chennai Super Kings have also been forced into a squad change due to injury concerns. The franchise has signed Indian left-arm pacer Kuldip Yadav as a replacement for Khaleel Ahmed, who has been ruled out of the remainder of the season with a right quadricep injury.

Khaleel featured in five matches for CSK this season, claiming two wickets while maintaining an economy rate of 8.67. His injury occurred during CSK’s clash against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), bringing a sad end to his campaign.
