New Zealand allrounder Rachin Ravindra has left the Indian Premier League (IPL) early in order to focus on New Zealand’s upcoming Test tour of England. His franchise, Kolkata Knight Riders, confirmed his departure on Friday. Ravindra was bought by KKR at the IPL 2026 auction for his base price of INR 2 crore; however, he did not feature in a single match throughout the tournament.

“Best wishes from the Knights as Rachin heads home to prepare for national duty,” KKR wrote on their social media handle.

Kolkata side had a settled batting combination, with experienced Indian batters and Cameron Green occupying the middle-order role. Meanwhile, New Zealand will face England in a challenging Test series, which starts at Lord's Cricket Ground on June 4. The tour will be Ravindra’s first-ever Test series in English conditions.

The three-match Test series is scheduled across some of England’s historic venues. After the opening Test at Lord’s from June 4 to 8, the teams will meet again at The Oval from June 17 to 21, before the final Test takes place in Trent Bridge from June 25 to 29. On the other hand, KKR are scheduled to meet Gujarat Titans on Saturday at Eden Gardens.
