Unstoppable RCB annihilate weary PBKS

Royal Challengers Bengaluru strengthened their position at the top of the table with a convincing 23-run win over Punjab Kings in Dharamshala on Sunday. RCB impressed with both bat and ball, successfully defending a massive total of 222/4 and restricting PBKS to 199/8 in their chase in a high-scoring clash.
Asked to bat, Bengaluru got off to a confident start despite losing an early wicket. Virat Kohli showed his class with a brilliant 58, striking four boundaries and three sixes. He built a crucial 76-run partnership with Devdutt Padikkal, who contributed a valuable 45.
After Padikkal’s dismissal, Kohli continued to dominate and shared another important stand with Venkatesh Iyer. The duo added 60 runs for the third wicket. Iyer was the standout performer for RCB, remaining unbeaten on 73, helping Bengaluru post 222/4 in 20 overs.
Meanwhile, Punjab Kings faced early trouble in their chase as both openers fell cheaply. Priyansh Arya was dismissed without scoring, while Prabhsimran Singh managed only two runs. Marcus Stoinis and Cooper Connolly attempted to revive the innings with attacking knocks of 37 each, but the pressure continued to mount. Shashank Singh fought hard till the end, scoring 56. However, Punjab Kings could get over the line.
