Delhi Capitals signed off their IPL 2026 campaign with a splendid 40-run victory over Kolkata Knight Riders on Sunday at Eden Gardens, ending their season on a high at a time when both teams had little left to fight for. Pursuing a challenging target of 204, Kolkata Knight Riders faltered under pressure and were bowled out for 163 in 18.4 overs.

The chase never found momentum despite a spirited effort from skipper Ajinkya Rahane, who stood tall amid the collapse with a classy 63 off 39 balls. The lack of support from the other end put KKR far behind throughout the innings. DC's bowlers maintained control from the outset, with Kuldeep Yadav standing out as the chief architect of KKR’s downfall. He ripped through the middle order with three crucial wickets.

Earlier, Delhi Capitals gave a commanding batting performance after being sent in to bat. KL Rahul played a breathtaking knock at the top, hammering 60 runs from 30 deliveries. After Rahul’s departure, DC continued to keep the scoreboard ticking through valuable contributions from captain Axar Patel, who chipped in with 39, while David Miller scored 28 runs. Ashutosh Sharma provided late flourish with an unbeaten 18, helping DC post a formidable total of 203/5 in 20 overs.
