A sensational century from skipper Shubman Gill has helped Gujarat Titans claim a breathtaking seven-wicket win over Rajasthan Royals in Qualifier 2 on Friday at PCA New Cricket Stadium and storm into the IPL 2026 final, setting up a hair-raising title clash with RCB in Sunday's decider. Chasing a target of 215, GT openers were unstoppable. Sai Sudharshan dazzled with an aggressive 58 off 32 deliveries before finally falling (hit wicket), but by then the damage had already been done.

Gill scored a magnificent 104 off 53 to put the side on course for a thumping victory. Gill made a massive impact, playing one of the finest knocks of the season. After his departure, Jos Buttler and Rahul Tewatia scored 9* and 17*, respectively, to guide the side to victory in 18.4 overs.

Earlier, Rajasthan Royals had been helped by teenage sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi. The young star again narrowly missed out on a century, hammering a classy 96 off 47 balls. During his knock, he became the fastest player ever to complete 1,000 IPL runs in terms of balls faced, reaching the landmark in 440 deliveries and shattering Andre Russell’s previous record of 545 balls.

Veteran all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja chipped in with a valuable unbeaten 45 off 35 balls, helping Rajasthan Royals post a commanding total of 214/6 after their skipper Riyan Parag decided to bat after winning the toss.
