IPL 2026: RCB receive huge sum following title defence
Royal Challengers Bengaluru recorded a spectacular five-wicket win over Gujarat Titans in the IPL 2026 final in Ahmedabad on Sunday to clinch their consecutive IPL titles. At the heart of this victory was the legendary batter and chasemaster Virat Kohli, whose 75 unbeaten runs lifted the side to their back-to-back IPL titles.
Earlier, deciding to bowl, RCB restricted the beleaguered Titans to a small total of 155/8 in 20 overs, with Josh Hazlewood, Rasikh Salam and Bhuvneshwar Kumar ripping through GT's batting line-up and taking two, three and two wickets, respectively. Meanwhile, during their chase, RCB had a strong start following opener Venkatesh Iyer's 32 off 16. Tim David also played his part with a superb 24 off 17 balls.
Now, after successfully defending the title, RCB will take home â‚ą20 crore in prize money, while Gujarat Titans, who finished runners-up, will be rewarded â‚ą12.5 crore.
