Indian wicketkeeper-batter KS Bharat has announced his retirement from international cricket. Bharat shared the news through his social media account, expressing gratitude for the opportunity to represent India.

"With a proud heart and a sense of gratitude, I announce my retirement from international cricket. To play for my country has been the greatest honour of my life. This journey of mine has demanded great resilience and strength, but the honour to represent India in Tests is worth every moment. In a family of four, we all lived the same dream over two decades, a big thank you to my sister, mom and dad for creating the environment and support system they have been. I am a product of their love, discipline and hard work," he wrote on social media.

Bharat's international career was quite short, but it was built on years of hard work in domestic cricket. Through domestic cricket, he earned recognition as one of India's most dependable wicketkeepers on the domestic circuit before eventually receiving his chance in the national team.

He featured in seven Test matches for India, making valuable contributions both with the bat and as a wicketkeeper. His final appearance in Indian colours came during the Test series against England in Visakhapatnam in February 2024. In seven Tests, Bharat scored 221 runs and was involved in 19 dismissals behind the wickets.
