IND vs AFG, one-off Test: Rahul and Gill fire centuries as India remain dominant

India stamped their authority on the opening day of the one-off Test against Afghanistan in Mullanpur, finishing in a commanding position at 368/3 after a superb display of batting on Saturday. India made a brilliant recovery from an early setback, with KL Rahul and captain Shubman Gill producing magnificent centuries that put the Afghanistan bowlers under huge pressure.
Their incredible approaches put India into a commanding position. Deciding to bat, India's innings did not begin as planned as opener Yashasvi Jaiswal departed cheaply. However, KL Rahul and Sai Sudharsan built the innings during the crucial middle session.
The experienced batter KL Rahul absorbed pressure with solid defence, blasting his century off 165 balls. Sai Sudharsan played a valuable role, scoring a much-needed 81. Later, skipper Shubman Gill took centre stage, smashing a composed century. At stumps on day one, Gill remained unbeaten on 103 while Pant was not out on 50.
