India coach lauds Manav Suthar for excellent India debut

India’s blistering victory over Afghanistan by an innings and 300 runs was not only about India's demonstration of their dominance but also a highlight of growing talent in the country. The match completely belonged to left-arm spinner Manav Suthar, whose incredible performance on his Test debut underscored the effectiveness of the talent and the nurturing system created by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
In the wake of the comprehensive win, India's batting coach Sitanshu Kotak praised the young spinner’s rise through the ranks, describing his success as evidence of the robust pathways available to emerging cricketers in the country.
"He really bowled well. He is a good prospect. Over the past 2-3 years, Manav has been playing for India A and India Emerging. This was a great opportunity for him, and he did well too. In fact, he batted very well, so that is actually very satisfying," Kotak said at the press conference.
"But I feel the BCCI structure is such that you play so many matches, from age-group (cricket) to Ranji Trophy, Emerging to India A, so it is a great exposure for all the players.
"And obviously, Manav is one of them who was performing for three to four years. So, good luck to him," Kotak said.
Talking about the match, India remained incredibly dominant throughout the match by putting up a solid total of 564/8d after deciding to bat. Afghanistan, on the other hand, struggled to match the intensity shown by India being bowled out for 152. After bowling Afghanistan out for a low total, India imposed follow-on and wrapped up Afghanistan for 112.
