Scotland have made a late adjustment to their squad for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026, bringing in fast bowler Hannah Rainey as a replacement for spinner Abtaha Maqsood ahead of the tournament opener. Abtaha Maqsood was ruled out following a fracture to her hand sustained during Scotland’s warm-up game against Pakistan on June 9.

The replacement was officially approved by the tournament’s Event Technical Committee. Rainey, who represents Yorkshire at the domestic level, brings valuable international experience, though she has not appeared at a major ICC event.

Since making her Scotland debut in 2018, the right-arm medium-pace bowler has played 41 T20 Internationals and claimed 25 wickets.

Scotland squad: Kathryn Bryce (c), Chloe Abel, Olivia Bell, Sarah Bryce, Darcey Carter, Priyanaz Chatterji, Gabriella Fontenla, Katherine Fraser, Kirstie Gordon, Ailsa Lister, Maisie Maceira, Hannah Rainey, Megan McColl, Rachel Slater, Pippa Sproul
