Women's T20 World Cup All-round India crush Netherlands

India women clinched a massively thumping 95-run victory over the Netherlands women in their Women’s T20 World Cup clash at Headingley on Wednesday, with Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Verma playing their incredible roles. The emphatic win took India to the top of Group A. This was India's second consecutive win in the tournament after they kicked off their campaign with a brilliant win against Pakistan.
After being asked to bat, India put out a big total of 209/5 in 20 overs following a batting masterclass from their openers. The total also happened to be one of the highest totals recorded in Women's T20 World Cup history. Openers Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Verma forged an aggressive 115-run partnership, scoring 74 and 55 respectively.
On the other hand, the Netherlands, in their chase, were bowled out for 114 in 17.3 overs. India's spin attack was quite instrumental in taking down the Netherlands' batting lineup. Young spinner Sree Charani claimed four wickets, and Shafali Verma also made a significant contribution with the ball, picking up three wickets.
