New Zealand decimate England to level series

England crashed to a demoralising 253-run defeat against New Zealand in the second Test at The Oval on Sunday, with Matt Henry playing a vital role by claiming 11 wickets across both innings. Chasing a target of 463 runs for victory, England's batters failed to rise to the challenge as the side was dismissed for 209 on the final day.
The hosts suffered a sensational collapse, losing wickets at regular intervals as New Zealand's bowlers maintained relentless pressure to secure a blazing win. The Kiwis consolidated their chances in the first innings after they put out a massive total of 391 after being asked to bat. Glenn Phillips' fighting century and Tom Bundell's half-century made a big difference. England, meanwhile, managed 291 runs in their first innings, but the deficit put them on the backfoot.
New Zealand, on the other hand, turned the screw with another impressive batting display in their second innings, accumulating 362 runs to stretch their lead. In the second innings, Henry Nicholls resisted England, slamming a consequential 121 off 171. But it was Matt Henry who was the architect of England's downfall. He engineered the devastating collapse, consistently blasting England and finishing with a breathtaking 10-wicket haul in the match.
