Indian stalwart Rohit Sharma honoured with Padma Shri
Indian stalwart Rohit Sharma was conferred the prestigious Padma Shri, one of India's highest civilian honours, in New Delhi on Tuesday. Rohit has played a mammoth role in taking India to new heights. Under his leadership, India ended a long wait for an ICC trophy by winning the 2024 T20 World Cup. The T20I title win was followed by another incredible achievement when India secured the Champions Trophy in 2025.
Looking at Rohit's performance, in the Test format, Rohit has amassed 4301 runs from 67 matches, including 12 centuries and 18 half-centuries. In ODIs, he has scored 11720 runs, including 33 hundreds and 62 half-centuries from 282 matches. In T20Is, he scored 4231 runs, registering five centuries and 32 half-centuries.
Notably, Rohit has retired from Test and T20Is, however he continues to play the ODI format. Recently, he was seen in action during the ODI series against Afghanistan, scoring 143 runs across three matches.
