Indian stalwart Rohit Sharma was conferred the prestigious Padma Shri, one of India's highest civilian honours, in New Delhi on Tuesday. The award was presented by President Droupadi Murmu during the Padma Awards ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhavan, recognising Rohit's tremendous contribution to Indian cricket over the years. The explosive batter attended the second civil investiture ceremony alongside his wife, Ritika Sajdeh. Previously, he had been unable to attend the first ceremony conducted earlier in May due to 

Rohit has played a mammoth role in taking India to new heights. Under his leadership, India ended a long wait for an ICC trophy by winning the 2024 T20 World Cup. The T20I title win was followed by another incredible achievement when India secured the Champions Trophy in 2025.

Looking at Rohit's performance, in the Test format, Rohit has amassed 4301 runs from 67 matches, including 12 centuries and 18 half-centuries. In ODIs, he has scored 11720 runs, including 33 hundreds and 62 half-centuries from 282 matches. In T20Is, he scored 4231 runs, registering five centuries and 32 half-centuries.

Notably, Rohit has retired from Test and T20Is, however he continues to play the ODI format. Recently, he was seen in action during the ODI series against Afghanistan, scoring 143 runs across three matches.
