Suryansh Shedge earns maiden India T20I call-up

Young Indian all-rounder Suryansh Shedge has received his maiden call-up to the Indian T20I squad for the upcoming series in Ireland and England. The promising all-rounder has been included in the squad as a replacement for Nitish Kumar Reddy, who has been ruled out due to injury.
"Nitish reported left quadriceps discomfort after the third ODI against Afghanistan on June 20. Following a subsequent medical assessment, the BCCI Medical Team has recommended a period of rehabilitation, ruling him out of both T20I series," the BCCI said in a statement.
Shedge has been rewarded for a string of impressive performances across domestic and franchise cricket over the past year. Recently, Shedge played a key role in India A's successful campaign in the ODI tri-series held in Sri Lanka, featuring Sri Lanka A and Afghanistan A. He contributed valuable runs, finishing the tournament with 147 runs. He was also impressive with the ball.
The youngster was in stormy form during IPL 2026 while representing Punjab Kings. He was impactful with the bat, scoring 158 runs in seven innings. Suryansh also shone for Mumbai in their victorious Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy campaign in 2024-25, slamming 131 runs at a strike rate of 251.92.
