Former Australian cricketer Michael Klinger has been added to the Gulf Giants' coaching setup at International League T20 (ILT20), being named the side's batting coach. Klinger will join a refreshed backroom staff as his appointment comes shortly after Simon Helmot was named head coach, succeeding Jonathan Trott, who stepped down from the role last month. These changes come in the wake of the side's disappointing campaign during last season.

Notably, alongside Klinger, Kadeer Ali has been roped in as the fielding coach, while Gary Brent will oversee strength and conditioning. The trio will work closely with an experienced support group that already includes bowling coach Shane Bond, physiotherapist James Pipe, and performance analyst Saurabh Walkar.

"This is an exciting opportunity to join another team within the group. Gulf Giants have strong foundations and I'm looking forward to working closely with Simon and the rest of the staff to help build a solid unit that can make a big impact in the new season," Michael Klinger said as quoted by ESPNCricinfo.

Klinger carries huge experience, having worked with various franchises.

"Klinger brings extensive experience as both a player and coach and is well acquainted with [the group's] high-performance environment and player development approach," a statement from the team stated.
