Jacob Duffy makes comeback as New Zealand confirm squad for West Indies ODIs

New Zealand have revealed their squad for the upcoming five-match ODI series against West Indies, with pacer Jacob Duffy making his return to the side. Mitchell Santner will lead the 16-member squad that boasts the likes of Michael Bracewell, Mark Chapman, Daryl Mitchell, Henry Nicholls and Will Young.
Meanwhile, talented pacers Kyle Jamieson, Matt Henry, and Will O’Rourke will not be part of the series as they manage their workload. Blair Tickner will miss the series due to scheduled surgery on his ankle, while Devon Conway will also not be available due to family reasons. Notably, Matt Fisher has been given a maiden ODI call-up.
“It’s great to have Jacob and Matt joining the group and I know they’ll bring a lot of energy and excitement,” New Zealand head coach Rob Walter said.
“It’s a nice opportunity to introduce Matt to the ODI group for the first time. He bowls with good pace and has been working hard on his variations to ensure he can bowl at different stages of the innings. Jacob has been a stand-out for us in all formats for the past couple of years. His skills and experience will be a great addition to our squad and I know he’s looking forward to representing New Zealand again.”
The series will begin on July 11 in Guyana.
