Pakistan's Abdullah Fazal ruled out of West Indies and England Tests

Pakistan have suffered a big setback, with opener Abdullah Fazal ruled out of West Indies and the subsequent tour of England after sustaining a lower back injury during a training session in the Caribbean. The injury occurred while Pakistan were preparing for the opening Test at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy.
"Following an MRI scan and clinical assessment, the team’s medical panel confirmed that Abdullah will require a period of rehabilitation and has therefore been ruled out of both assignments," the PCB said in a release.
Pakistan have not yet announced whether another player will be added to the squad as his replacement. Fazal has shown promising signs in his past assignments. Since making his Test debut against Bangladesh in May, he has been hugely impressive. In his maiden Test, he finished as Pakistan's leading run-scorer by registering half-centuries in both innings.
He remained in great form in the warm-up match against a West Indies Select XI earlier this week. He remained unbeaten in both innings, scoring 50 and 48. Meanwhile, Pakistan and West Indies will face each other in the first Test which begins on July 25.
