SA20 defending champions Sunrisers Eastern Cape have bolstered their squad by roping in Australia’s explosive batter Mitchell Marsh for season five of the tournament. This will be Marsh’s first-ever stint in the SA20 as he prepares to join a star-studded batting line-up boasting the likes of Quinton de Kock, Matthew Breetzke, Jordan Hermann and Tristan Stubbs.

All six teams have announced their retained and pre-signed players, with immensely talented players Sam Curran, Joe Root, Phil Salt and Jason Holder slated to feature in the upcoming season of the league. The rest of the squads will be completed at the Player Auction which is scheduled to be held on October 7. England veteran Joe Root is set to return for his second spell with the Paarl Royals, and Sam Curran, with his amazing all-round abilities, will strengthen Durban Super Giants. Sam Curran is quite familiar with the tournament, having represented MI Cape Town in the first two seasons of the tournament. England all-rounder Will Jacks has moved to MI Cape Town after serving Pretoria Capitals for three seasons. Joburg Super Kings have roped in West Indies all-rounder Jason Holder amid the departure of Faf du Plessis. Meanwhile, Jonny Bairstow has been released by Sunrisers Eastern Cape.
