In a major setback, Sri Lanka have been dealt crushing blows ahead of their upcoming T20I series against England, with captain Kusal Mendis and fast bowler Binura Fernando being ruled out because of injuries. In Kusal’s absence, Charith Asalanka will lead the side in T20Is. Meanwhile, Pavan Rathnayake has been brought in to replace Kusal Mendis while Dilshan Madushanka comes in for Binura Fernando. The three-match T20I series will begin on September 15 in Southampton, followed by the second and third matches on September 17 and 19 in Cardiff and Manchester, respectively.
