Afghanistan to host Bangladesh and Zimbabwe in ODI tri-series
Afghanistan are set to host Bangladesh and Zimbabwe in the ODI tri-series in UAE, scheduled to be played from October 17 to 23. The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) is yet to confirm the venues, but the schedule is incredibly demanding, featuring Tests, ODIs and T20Is.
The campaign is scheduled to begin on October 9, when Afghanistan will meet Bangladesh in a one-off test. Following which, Afghanistan will turn their attention to the shortest format in which they will face Zimbabwe in a three-match T20I series. The matches are scheduled for October 27, 29 and November 1.
After the T20Is, Afghanistan and Zimbabwe will play a two-match Test series, with the first match scheduled from November 5 to 9 and the second from November 13 to 17.
"We are pleased to confirm this important period of international cricket for the Afghanistan National Team. Playing Bangladesh and Zimbabwe across different formats will provide our players with valuable competitive opportunities and offer our supporters an exciting period of international cricket,” ACB CEO Naseeb Khan said.
