India’s tearaway pacer Jasprit Bumrah has been declared fit and is available for selection, providing India a major boost ahead of Afghanistan T20Is and the Asian Games. Earlier, Bumrah’s availability was subject to fitness, but now he has cleared the required tests.

He will now feature in the three-match series against, which begins on September 13. Bumrah’s return comes after he was forced to sit out India's third ODI in England and also missed the two-Test series in Sri Lanka because of injury.

Meanwhile, Yash Thakur has been brought in to replace Harshit Rana, who has suffered another injury during his rehabilitation process, for the Afghanistan series and Asian Games.

“The fast bowler was progressing well during his rehab at the BCCI Centre of Excellence (CoE). He sustained a rectus femoris strain while bowling during a match simulation on September 7 and has subsequently been ruled out,” BCCI said in a release.

Yash Thakur made his T20I debut during India’s tour of Zimbabwe in July, where he played two matches and took four wickets. He has also played 50 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy matches, in which he has claimed 81 wickets.
