Shreyas Iyer breaks into top 10 in T20I rankings

Indian captain Shreyas Iyer has risen to the seventh place in the latest ICC T20I rankings for the batters following an enthralling knock in the first T20I against West Indies on Tuesday in Lucknow. Iyer was in fiery form, striking a match-winning 102 to help India seal an eight-wicket win to go 1-0 up in the series.
Iyer has surged 18 places to storm into the top 10. The innings was Iyerâs maiden T20I hundred, which played a key role in Indiaâs win. India now have four players in the top 10, with Ishan Kishan leading the rankings at No. 1, followed by Abhishek Sharma at No. 2, Iyer at No. 7 and Tilak Varma at No. 10.
Teenager Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has also made great progress, jumping eight places to 46th. All-rounder Axar Patel has climbed 16 positions to seventh among T20I bowlers, earning a place among the format's leading wicket-takers. Afghanistan star Rashid Khan has reclaimed the top position, overtaking Pakistan's Abrar Ahmed.
