IND vs WI, 3rd T20I: India overcome West Indies to take 2-1 lead

India, riding on the back of an impressive all-round performance, romped to a 14-run win over West Indies in the third T20I in Indore on Sunday, taking a 2-1 lead in the five-match series. After being asked to bat, Indian opener Abhishek Sharma helped the side set a challenging target of 224 runs.
Abhishek Sharma provided the innings with an explosive start, scoring 69 runs from just 30 deliveries. Ishan Kishan played an important innings of 37 runs off 18 balls; vice-captain Tilak Varma contributed 28 from 16 deliveries. All-rounders Nitish Kumar Reddy and Axar Patel also made useful contributions towards the end of the innings, scoring 21 and 20 runs, respectively.
Chasing the target, West Indies lost in-form batter Shai Hope early. However, Kamil Pooran and Shimron Hetmyer kept the side in the chase with key contributors of 42 and 43 runs, respectively. Still, West Indies struggled to build on the platform after other batters failed to lead the charge. On the other hand, Indian bowlers maintained discipline despite a stiff resistance, restricting West Indies to 209/7 in 20 overs.
