West Indies have confirmed a 15-member squad for the upcoming two-match Test series against Bangladesh, starting on October 28 in Mirpur. West Indies, however, have left out key players Alzarri Joseph and Shai Hope, who, according to the board, are set to be rested for the series.

Meanwhile, young batter Kevin Wickham has been handed a maiden Test call-up. Batter John Campbell also returns to the side after missing the recent series against Pakistan due to a hamstring injury. In Joseph’s absence, all-rounder Keemo Paul has been called up as his replacement for the series.

Moreover, the series is crucial for West Indies as this is the final assignment for them in the ongoing World Test Championship cycle 2025-2027.

“At the start of this World Test Championship cycle we set ourselves goals, and one of them was to finish in the top half of the rankings," West Indies head coach Darren Sammy said.

"Winning this series would move us closer to it. Playing Bangladesh in their own conditions will be challenging, and we’re ready for that.”

West Indies squad for Bangladesh Tests: Roston Chase (c), Jomel Warrican (vc), Joshua Bishop, John Campbell, Tagenarine Chanderpaul, Joshua Da Silva (wk), Justin Greaves, Kavem Hodge, Amir Jangoo (wk), Shamar Joseph, Brandon King, Keemo Paul, Kemar Roach, Jayden Seales, Kevin Wickham
