India allrounder Prema Rawat created history by scoring the fastest half-century in women's T20 cricket, reaching the milestone in just 14 balls during the Senior Women's T20 Trophy in Pune.

Representing Uttarakhand against Hyderabad, the 24-year-old remained unbeaten on 50 off 14 deliveries, smashing six fours and four sixes. Batting at No. 4, Rawat walked in during the 18th over and immediately went on the attack. She struck three consecutive boundaries before taking on the Hyderabad bowlers in the closing overs to bring up her record-breaking half-century.

Her explosive finish helped Uttarakhand post 187 for 2. Raghvi Bist provided support at the other end with an unbeaten 72 off 50 balls.

Rawat surpassed the previous record of a 15-ball half-century, jointly held by Marie Kelly, Fatima Sana and Laura Harris, who had achieved the feat in different T20 competitions.

Her contribution was not limited to batting. Rawat also impressed with the ball, claiming two wickets for 12 runs as Hyderabad managed just 98 for 8 in their chase.

The 24-year-old made her India debut in June 2026 and has taken seven wickets in seven T20Is so far. One of her notable performances came against Pakistan in the Asia Cup group stage, where she returned figures of 3 for 9.

Rawat has also been part of Royal Challengers Bengaluru's back-to-back Women's Premier League title-winning campaigns in 2025 and 2026. She has taken three wickets in six WPL matches and was retained by the franchise ahead of the 2027 season.
