CSK, SRH confirm blockbuster trade, Livingstone set to join CSK

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) have struck a blockbuster trade deal involving four players, with Liam Livingstone and Jack Edwards set to leave Sunrisers Hyderabad to join the Chennai Super Kings. In exchange, SRH have obtained the services of Khaleel Ahmed and Australian pacer Nathan Ellis.
Livingstone, having originally been signed by SRH for INR 13 crore at the IPL 2025 mini-auction, takes a massive pay cut, joining CSK at a reduced fee of INR 6 crore. Edwards, on the other hand, goes to CSK at his current fee of INR 3 crore. After being roped in by SRH, Edwards did not feature in a single game in IPL 2026 following an injury.
Meanwhile, SRH have secured Khaleel Ahmed at his existing fee of INR 4.8 crore. He is no stranger to SRH, having already represented the franchise between 2018 and 2021 in the past. Notably, in the previous edition of the tournament, Khaleel made his appearance in only five matches for CSK before being ruled out of the tournament in the wake of a right quadriceps injury. Australian pacer Nathan Ellis, who brings an enormous amount of experience, will join SRH at his existing fee of INR 2 crore.
