Australian cricketer Chris Lynn has served a one-month suspension after testing positive for cocaine during a routine anti-doping test in England. England's Cricket Regulator revealed the outcome on Friday, confirming that the former Northamptonshire player had completed his ban.

The 36-year-old tested positive for low levels of benzoylecgonine, a metabolite of cocaine, on July 18 during the T20 Blast Finals Day. Lynn admitted the charge, and his suspension was reduced from three months to one after he completed a rehabilitation programme.

"The Cricket Regulator has imposed a one-month suspension on former Northamptonshire Steelbacks cricketer Chris Lynn," the regulator said in its statement. "The period of suspension has now been served."

The regulator accepted that the substance was used out of competition and was not related to sporting performance, leading to the reduced suspension.

Lynn, Australia's leading run-scorer in Big Bash League history, has represented the country in 18 T20Is and four ODIs. He has also played in the IPL for Deccan Chargers, Kolkata Knight Riders and Mumbai Indians, with his last appearance coming in 2021.

According to Australian media reports, Lynn is expected to join Melbourne Renegades for the upcoming Big Bash League season, which begins next month.
