PAK vs NZ 3rd T20I: Chapman fires to help New Zealand level series 1-1

Mark Chapman’s heroic knock of 87* powered New Zealand to a seven-wicket win over Pakistan in the third ODI match of the five-match series on Sunday at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. Chasing a rather valuable target of 178, New Zealand were off to an assured start, approaching the run chase with confidence and determination. Their top-order batsmen showcased resilience and composure, building partnerships.
A standout performance came from Mark Chapman, who anchored the innings with a well-constructed unbeaten 87, providing a solid foundation for the team. Their openers Tim Robinson 28 and Tim Seifert 21 provided boost at the top of the order. Chapman became the nemesis to Pakistan bowlers, hammering them relentlessly.
Put into bat, Pakistan openers Saim Ayub 32 and Babar Azam 37 did give the team a resolute start. Meanwhile, Mohammad Rizwan was retired hurt after scoring 22. Down the order, Irfan Khan and Shadab Khan made 30* and 41, propelling the side to a fighting score. For New Zealand, the decision paid off as their bowlers produced a disciplined performance to restrict Pakistan to a modest total.
With the series now level at 1-1, either side has chance to come out victorious by 2-1 as fourth and fifth matches are scheduled to be played in Lahore.
