On the second day (Friday) of the ongoing second Test match between West Indies and South Africa at Providence Stadium, South Africa established a commanding position, closing out the day with a 239-run lead. Having initially been dismissed for (160) in their first innings, South Africa’s bowlers responded emphatically, bundling out West Indies for a mere (144) runs. This gave the visitors a little edge.

South Africa’s bowlers Kagiso Rabada and Nandre Burger exploited the conditions well, maintaining relentless pressure on the West Indies' batters. The hosts struggled to find any momentum in their batting, with only Jason Holder showing resistance with his 54-run score unbeaten. The rest of the lineup succumbed to South Africa’s strong bowling attack.

In their second innings, South Africa built on this momentum and quickly extended their lead to (239) runs. Aiden Markram gave the team a perfect start, scoring (51). At the end of day two, Kyle Verreynne and Wiaan Mulder remained unbeaten on (50) and (34) respectively. Proteas will hope for a huge target as they enter the day three on Saturday.
