“I might still play cricket one day”: AB de Villiers

South African legend AB de Villers, who has bowed out of international cricket, is exploring the possibilities of returning to play the game again. He, however, maintained that he is not thinking to play in high-profile leagues like IPL and SA20, but he is hoping to play the game for fun and please his kids, who have put him under some pressure.
"I might still play cricket one day. No confirmation whatsoever. My kids are putting me under a bit of pressure, and I feel like I could go to the nets with them. if I enjoy it, maybe I'll walk out and go and play a little bit of casual cricket somewhere again and not professional IPL stuff or SA tours," AB de Villiers said on Melinda Farrell’s YouTube channel.
AB de Villiers, who retired from all forms of cricket in 2021 in order to spend more time with family, is eying a comeback to the game in a casual way. Currently, he serves as the Brand Ambassador of SA20.
"Who knows? But we'll see. I'm gonna try it again and see if this eye is still working. It's a bit blurry, but this (the right one) is the dominant one, and it's working fine. So I'm doing it for my kids and see if I can go out there and enjoy cricket again," he said.
