Tabraiz Shamsi withdraws from SA20, Thomas Kaber named replacement for MI Cape Town

MI Cape Town will head into the upcoming SA20 season without one of their most experienced performers, as South Africa’s premier left-arm wrist spinner Tabraiz Shamsi has pulled out of the tournament for personal reasons.
To fill the void, the franchise has drafted in Thomas Kaber, who has been a consistent domestic performer and will look to make an impact. Even without Shamsi, MI Cape Town have a formidable spin unit with Afghanistan superstar Rashid Khan, who will be supported by George Linde, along with experienced offspinner Dane Piedt.
As for Shamsi, he was picked by MICT for R500,000 in the auction held in September. Overall, he has appeared in 24 SA20 games, bagging 21 wickets at an average of 28.23. He has represented Joburg Super Kings and Paarl Royals.
MI Cape Town squad - Trent Boult, Rashid Khan, Ryan Rickelton, George Linde, Corbin Bosch, Kagiso Rabada, Nicholas Pooran, Rassie van der Dussen, Reeza Hendricks, Dwaine Pretorius, Tristan Luus, Jason Smith, Tom Moores, Dane Piedt, Tian van Vuuren, Dan Lategan, Thomas Kaber, Karim Janat, Jacques Snyman
