"Not out of form": Suryakumar Yadav addresses concerns around his performance

India’s T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav has acknowledged his recent lack of big scores but remains confident that a return to form is only a matter of time. Following India’s comfortable seven-wicket victory over South Africa in the third T20I in Dharamshala, the dynamic batter touched upon his lean patch, stressing that the absence of runs should not be mistaken for a dip in form.
"I've been batting beautifully in the nets. I'm trying everything that's in my control. When the runs have to come, they'll come. I'm looking for runs. Not out of form, definitely out of runs," said Suryakumar in the post-match presentation.
After suffering a heavy loss in the second game, India bounced back pretty strongly, bowling South Africa out for 117 in 20 overs to register a dominant victory.
"I think this sport teaches you a lot of things. How you come back into the series is more important. And we did the same thing; we wanted to go back to basics and do the same things we were doing in Cuttack, and the results were on our side," he said.
"See, there was a lot of learning from the game we played in (New) Chandigarh. The bowlers sat together; we had a good team meeting as well. We came for practice sessions, and we tried to do the same things what we did when we were in Cuttack. Basics were very important," he noted.
