The countdown has begun for one of cricket’s most anticipated rivalries as India and Pakistan prepare to clash in the T20 World Cup 2026 on Sunday in Colombo. The match is scheduled to take place at the R. Premadasa Stadium, a venue where many memorable encounters over the years have been witnessed, but Sunday’s showdown promises to be special given the stakes and the magnitude of the rivalry.

However, there is growing concern that the weather may overshadow the cricketing spectacle. According to forecasts, there is a staggering 94 per cent chance of rain in Colombo on Sunday. The Sri Lankan Department of Meteorology has warned that a low-pressure area is likely to develop over the southeastern Bay of Bengal.

This system could trigger persistent rainfall. Unfortunately, there is no reserve day scheduled for this fixture. If rain prevents any result from being achieved, the points will be shared between India and Pakistan.
