The International Cricket Council has confirmed the match officials who will oversee the highly anticipated final of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026, where India will face New Zealand. The marquee clash is scheduled for Sunday, 8 March, at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. England’s Richard Illingworth and Alex Wharf will take charge as the on-field umpires for the final. For Illingworth, this assignment marks another major milestone in his career.

He will be standing in his second consecutive Men’s T20 World Cup final, having also officiated the championship match of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024. Wharf previously served as an umpire during the ICC Women's Cricket World Cup 2022 and the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2023. Interestingly, Illingworth and Wharf recently worked together during New Zealand’s semi-final victory over South Africa earlier this week at Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

Supporting the on-field umpires will be South Africa’s Allahuddien Paleker, who has been appointed as the third umpire for the final. Adrian Holdstock will serve as the fourth umpire, while Andy Pycroft will be the match referee.

Match officials for T20 World Cup final:-
