Clinical SRH thump CSK in thrilling win
Sunrisers Hyderabad registered an impressive 10-run victory over Chennai Super Kings on Saturday in Hyderabad, holding their nerve in a nail-biting thriller. Chasing a challenging target of 195, CSK were restricted to 184/8 in 20 overs, struggling to build momentum as they lost wickets at regular intervals.
The turning point came through the sharp bowling spell of Eshan Malinga, whose three crucial wickets disrupted Chennai’s chase. For CSK, Matt Short top-scored with 34 as their other batters failed to handle the situation amid the stunning collapse.
Meanwhile, Sunrisers Hyderabad, asked to bat, set the tone with an explosive batting display. Abhishek Sharma lit up the innings with a breathtaking half-century off 15 balls, equalling the fastest fifty of the Indian Premier League 2026 season alongside Vaibhav Sooryavanshi.
His fearless performance gave SRH a flying start and put immediate pressure on CSK. Heinrich Klaasen played an impactful knock of 59 from 39 balls, taking Hyderabad to a formidable total of 194/9 in 20 overs. For CSK, Jamie Overton and Anshul Kamboj picked up three wickets each, while Mukesh Choudhary chipped in with two.
